Electro Energy is focused on three battery technologies:
Bipolar Nickel Metal Hydride, Bipolar Lithium Ion and Super
Ni-Cd Prismatic. Our unique technologies provide superior performance
in energy capacity, size and weight vs competitors.
EEI's Bipolar
Nickel Metal Hydride (BNMH) batteries use a unique and patented
flat wafer cell design developed over the past
12 years. The cells can be made in any shape and are therefore
applicable to a wide variety of military and commercial applications.
Wafer cells are stacked one on top of another to create multi-cell
batteries with the required energy capacity and voltage for
a given application. EEI has supplied prototype BNMH batteries
to various commercial and government customers.
 |
| Compared to the competitor's high power
NiCad, EEI packages NMH at the same weight and volume to
provide
40% more energy and 50% higher
power, or EEI could provide up to 36Volts in the same package. |
Applications that EEI is targeting with our Bipolar
Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries include the automotive industry,
where battery technology is needed to support the rapidly growing
gasoline/electric hybrid market and manufacturers upgrading
to more powerful 42 volt starting batteries from the 12 volt
systems used today. The electric scooter/bicycle market is
also large, particularly in Asia where governments are encouraging
a switch to electric power to reduce pollution. EEI believes
that high performance electric scooters have a market in the
US also and is searching for a partner in this market. The
cordless power tool market is rapidly growing and EEI batteries
provide better energy capacity and a better environmental profile.
